Disney’s TRON 1982 Movie Review Finale

There’s A Party Going On In The Central Server! Guess Who Died!
This is it. The end. As such Flynn admits to TRON & YORI that he’s a USER. Then ruins TRONs perception of USERS, showing him they are as callable as programs.

Also I guess Flynn loves Lara, supposedly she loves Flynn as she called him sweetheart at movie start. But YORI loves TRON. Weird. Anyway as SARK tortures Dumont (the tower guardian? Action!

As I thought. Having a Solar Sail powered by an easily followed power beam? Soon they end up in a trap situation. A power surge delaying them, as Recignizers try to delete them.

Anyway Flynn defies the odds by diverting the power beam they’re on, allowing the ship to switch to another beam. The feedback surge smashing the pursuing Recognizers… Despite the fact we saw them free flying earlier in the pursuit.

Why they couldn’t just dodge the power surge who knows. Anyway they reach the central server. But wouldn’t you know it. Server travel is way faster if you have Admin access to direct download to the server! Like SARKs command ship.

The Solar Sail is destroyed, and Flynn & YORI are captured. But the Conjunction… Which I guess is a server maintenance…is happening. Everyone has to abandon ship. The server is going to dismantle the command ship.

Flynn saves YORI by recharging her. With the ship coming undone, YORI reprogram the ship’s bridge systems to isolate the bridge. Allowing it and it’s two inhabitants to survive.

The ship? Still controllable from the bridge. Now a wire frame conceptual model of its former self. Important for a few minutes from now.

They have arrived at the MCPs central “temple”. His plans now under way. During the server maintenance, the MCP will absorb all the programs written by his probable creators. Becoming sentient enough to overtake the inferior worldwide computer net.

But TRON is still alive, and arrives at the temple in order to fight SARK. This may be a short fight, but it’s awesome. Especially all the defense counters by TRON as SARKs disc pummeled him.

He kills DARK by splitting his head open, breaking his disc. With no more defense programs left, and SARK down, the MAP must resort to desperate measures.

I’m order to stop TRON from destroying him, he imparts all his higher order functions to SARK. Turning him into a MCP like program in his own right. Aka a Titan class opponent.

But remember that YORI can still control the command ship? Flynn has her pilot the bridge next to the MCP light pillar. His plan is to jump in. He and YORI kiss, with neaning, and he jumps in. Which is basically the end of the MCP.

His systems already spread thin, between himself and SARK, having the hyper complex coding that is the Human Genome shoved into his already frayed systems causes a system crash. In those vital moments TRON severs the MCP from the server, killing him.

Flynn is sent back to the human world. His complex DNA coding rejected by the deleting MCP. SARK dies, TRON & YORI kiss, and the whole system is set free from the MCP. Somewhere in this universe? The future CHATGFX system swears revenge for the MCPs defeat.

Flynn is returned to ENCOM. But it’s the end of Dillinger… And salvation for China. With the MCP terminated, it’s plans to invade China’s infrastructure systems is thwarted. Also Dillinger’s secret is revealed.

Short story short. Bollinger is removed as CEO, Flynn (the true creator of Space Paranoids) is now the new CEO… And we never find out if Lara loves Flynn or TRON… I mean Alan.

And that’s it. Mind you if this movie was a success? We would have had more movies, and TRON and YORIs story would have continued. But nope. Not even Kingdom Hearts 2 does that. It’s kinda just a pale retread of this movie.

And that is my sadness today. I love this movie, but it was wasted potential. I kept wanting a sequel, and nothing happened. For 28 years… Until the Age of Universe Building. And TRON LEGACY. Sigh. Still… I wish more was done with TRON in the past.

But we can’t go backwards… Well… We can in review format but that’s it. Anyway before we end the year I’ll sit and review TRON LEGACY 2010. If not this year, then next March Sadness.

But we have a week left to Match Sadness. Where to next? I’ll let it brew and roll about in my head. Like a furry cat unexpectedly rolling down the stairs by accident. Stay tuned.

Disney TRON 1982 Movie Review Part 3

Stealth Skills, Or The Lack Of Facial Recognition Software? You Decide!
So what kept Flynn from being spotted in his brief infiltration of SARKs forces at the I/O Tower node? I’m going to just chalk it up to the lack of facial recognition software in 1982.

TRON is reunited with YORI (Lara’s program). Which begs the question… Does this mean Alan & Lara have a thing since their programs have a thing?

Funny. TRON asks YORI to take him somewhere because they need to make plans. She… Takes him directly to the interface security program. The Guardian if you will.

Am I really the only one who thinks there’s an entire scene missing? Where they do that planning, and she takes him to the Guardian to commune with ALAN ONE? Seems like that to me.

Anyway remember that old programmer that Dillinger talked to at the start? Are you surprised his program is the I/O Guardian? Also that Sphinx outfit is just an outfit… You’ll see him later as an ordinary program sand the suit.

Flynn finally meets BIT. Which might be a bad time for BIT, because Flynn’s desire to reach the I/O Tower has him speeding in a stabilizer compromised Recognizer.

Basically his need for speed causes a ton of structural damage to the already compromised Revognizer, finally crashing it… Exactly where he needs to be. The I/O Tower.

Why did BIT stay with the Recognizer? I think it’s because he’s integrated into the Recognizer pilot module. He can’t leave it, unless a program extracts its code. Something the real CLU might do later? Maybe?

Anyway let’s see. We learn from YORI that this I/O Tower port is infected with old 1982 era hacker programs. And we learn from Flynn that apparently Rule34 exists here. It are those lady programs hacker programs?

Wait… Does this mean (if they’re comely female programs written by male hackers) they’re may be Transgender programs? (Female encoding with Male USER)? Yes. You didn’t ask for my theories on random five second eye candy. Sorry.

After arguing with the Guardian a bit, he decides to help TRON. Because he’s find of YORI… guess the guy back in reality is find of Lara. He shuts off access to the chamber, blocking the sentries, and sends TRON in. As SARK arrives with a large data barrier smasher.

So the instructions from ALAN ONE to TRON? Uhh… He has to vivisect the base of the MCP with his disc? Really? Why would Alan phrase his instructions like that? As if the MCP was real?

It’s almost as if the line was being hacked by CLU! SARK even hints that he doesn’t think TRON is getting through to Alan! So… Was he given info CLU originally meant for Flynn? But necessity made him pass it on to TRON?

TRON & YORI escape, the Guardian is captured… Which was going to happen anyway. SPOILERS… Maybe. It looks like the MCP wants to merge his program with all the I/O Guardians, during the so called Conjunction. Who might represent the team that programmed the MCP.

Why? Seems to me the MCP wants to absorb all the knowledge of his USERS, as represented by their programs. Becoming sentient AI in the process. Sentient enough to overcome Chinese, Russian and other mainframes. And gain worldwide power.

This whole conjunction event seems to be leading, in my opinion, to the MCPs plans to take over the worldwide computer cyberscape of 1982. And if this movie was successful? Maybe a sequel or two would have fleshed out his plot in greater detail?

My sadness for this review. That there was no future for TRON… until 2010. If they did a movie every 8-10 years! We could have had the entire MCP trilogy before 2010 and TRON LEGACY. Sigh. But that just was not meant to be, and we can’t go back to change it.

Well… Fan Creators could make those sequels! Hoping the visuals to represent technology in 1992 & 2001… Heck. Bruce Boxleitner & Jeff Bridges might even join the production as TRON if they did it! Not saying he would be… Maybe?

Flynn slips by an army of DARK soldiers, because 1982 facial recognition software didn’t exist. Somehow he’s at the right place, at the right time, and escapes with TRON & YORI in the Solar Sail. Headed towards the main server… And the MCP.

We are nearly done here. Time for Flynn to reveal he’s a USER to TRON & YORI. As the MCP prepared to datacide his “parents” (his programmers programs) and achieve true AI sentience… Maybe?

Anyway the action is wrapping up with the final confrontation soon. So let’s get ready for tomorrow as TRON… gets the sinking feeling that Flynn is not in YORI’s USER? Or YORI? Really? Come on! See ya.

Disney TRON 1982 Movie Review Part 2

The Conspiracy Of The Clu-Less Continues
So we have reached one of the most iconic moments of Tron. The Light Cycles. Memorable from the classic arcade game, from the movie of course… Misused in Kingdom Hearts 2.

My first sign that Clu had been preparing for his chance to destroy the MCP. The fact a Drone that I think is here on Clu’s control, seems to be in this competition. In the Red side.

I think the plan was always to break TRON free. And lead him towards destroying the MCP. Which I further later along when TRON infiltrates an Input/Output Tower Node, to talk to Alan.

If my theory is right, it must have been a shock for the Drone to see Flynn. Thinking it was CLU… But not for long. Anyway the match is fast and ecviting. Not as stylish visually as LEGACY, but filled with more pulse pounding excitement and energy.

I think the plan was this. The Drone was meant to crash into a wall, opening a gap in the weakened walls. Their integrity programming compromised by CLU in the near past. That seems to be the plan.

Until TRON slams a Red into the wall, and reveals the wall’s weakened state by accident. Funny. You think the minute the wall fails? They would have stopped the match… Unless the damage was kept hidden from the sensors on the flagship. Until it was too late to stop them.

Suddenly the Drone had a new objective. It decides to guide CLU into the maze TRON just made, self terminating by crashing into his own light wall to clear the path for their escape.

I think he looks back at the last moments before the crash, may be realizing he’s looking at a USER, not CLU, before termination. To these programs a moment akin to a holy experience.

They escape. And up driving through a Cyber Tank hanger, and are pursued by tanks. But since they are far less maneuverable than Light Cycles, they lose track of the trio.

There is a delightful bonding moment with the three recharging their energy at a power source pond. By now RAM beginning to suspect there is something off about Flynn.

We find out that TRON needs to reach an Input/Output Tower node, in order to commune with his USER. ALAN ONE. Though… Given the info TRON is going to get? I wonder…

They’re ambushed by a patrolling Cyber Tank, and both Flynn and RAM are feared dead. TRON has no choice but to go on, unaware that they survived… Except RAM is severely damaged by the Tank’s photonic cannon.

By chance they end up at a data recycling bin area, with the remains of a dismantled Recognizer (the sky sentinel crafts that patrol the data skies). As it turns out? This might be the same Recognizer from the start of the movie. That captured Clu’s Drone.

Why? Because this Recognizer seems to store the still active BIT companion that was with the CLU Drone at the start of the movie. Seemingly integrating with the Recognizer to escape capture. Waiting for its chance to aid CLU…

So imagine it’s surprise when CLU, seemingly, arrived with another program it’s unfamiliar with. It’s probably the source that restarted the Recognizer, though RAM thought it was Flynn. Rebuilding it from the scrap yard of dismantled data shards. With damage.

RAM deleted from his injuries, but not before he realizes he’s been with a USER this whole time. Kind of a Come To USER moment before he deletes. Somewhere out there, Allstate vows revenge.

So Flynn is in control of the Recognizer, heading to meet up with TRON at the Input/Output Tower node. But the Recognizer has a damaged stabilizer arm, and is hard to control… Enter BIT… Briefly… Next time.

Hey! That cutie YORI shows up! As well as the Data Solar Sail that the gang will escape in. Next up? TRON needs to reach out and touch his USER. Flynn briefly meets BIT. BIT regrets meeting Flynn.

Meanwhile a grand server convergence is about to happen. Something in which the MCU will perform Dark Cthulhu like rites by absorbing the programs of all those whose USERs made him. Yeesh. This must be CLUs big chance to kill him. During this merger.

By CLU I mean TRON. Though as we will see when ALAN ONE imparts knowledge to TRON on destroying the MCP? The info given?… Doesn’t make sense if it’s truly from ALAN. You’ll see. That’s coming up tomorrow.

(blinks) …noooooo… Don’t go looking at Rule34 like that. Movies like this sometimes generate Rule34 that gives the Uncanny Valley nightmares. Hint – Imagine not drawing regular sexy XXX art. Imagine merging images from this movie with live nudes… Eeww.

Ok enough trauma for us all tonight. We bounce back with Part 3 tomorrow. As for the final closing movie of March Sadness? I’m still thinking about it? Stay in the 80s? Finish in the 90s? Stay tuned.

Disney TRON 1982 Movie Review Part 1

So… Are Non Believers In Users AUserists?!? Is Viced Rhino’s last written program a AUserist?!?
Yeah. I’m going to try and not get bogged down by the whole Users Are Gods thing in the Virtual Grid World. But yeah. They go on about belief in Users a bit in this movie.

So the lady whose the User of Yori (Tron’s lover) is responsible for the giant digitization cannon that sends Flynn (and probably Flynn’s son in the next movie) to the Virtual Grid. Hmm…

No seriously who builds a machine capable of transferring organic life into the Virtual realm of not to invade reality? After all of that was their intent all along? Some human would have stumbled into Virtual World during test runs in human digitization!

Next surprise? Sark, this movie’s Darth Vader) is summoned by MCP and given responsibility to break Flynn. We find out that Sark… Believes in Users. But he believes he will be deleted if he resists MCP more so…

Yeah. I think it’s safe to say that Flynn arriving and being sent to Virtual World was not in MCPs plans… But it might have been in Clu’s plans. After all when we get to the lightbikes duel tomorrow? There’s a little thing that may note that Sark has spies in his units.

I guess, for my theory to work, eventually MCP would have filled in Sark about his plan to have Sark merged with the organic data of Dillinger, replacing his mind in reality as the MCPs voice in the world beyond digital.

Why not go himself? Why place himself in unnecessary risk when his Number One (Sark) can take all the risks of transitioning to reality, while the MCP reaps the benefits of his infiltration?. I’m sure lots of people wrote a ton of porn about programs going real so…

Flynn is out in lock up, and meets our heroes of the movie. TRON & RAM. And hey! We have a hero who was a hard working program enlisted to ad people in the insurance company Allstate! State Farm? Metlife? No. He doesn’t give the Like A Good Neighbor jingle!

After the brief orientation meeting with the new arrivals, Flynn catches sight of TRON in the famous light disc duel scene. Though he doesn’t remember that Alan (Boxleitner) made TRON? He mentions TRON in their meeting at the arcade!

We have Flynn fight a fellow program in the well filmed raquetball of doom match. Funny. Very little TRON games ever include this one game element. It’s always light discs, never racquetball.

Flynn manages to best his opponent, but to David Warner’s rage refuses to delete his rival. By the way all the acting in this movie is excellent. And hey! This is one of the most advanced movies of its age, released about a decade prior to CGI becoming a full SFX tool.

You gotta admire all the early Pre CGI era CGI in this movie. Especially since it’s all done as practical live acting filming with 80s era CGI integrated into it. Highly ambitious for its time. Should have had more movies done quicker.

Because the MCP wants to watch Flynn did in the very games he created, Sark doesn’t kill him. Instead he’s sent to the Light Cycle arena… Where he messes up.

Up until now he has been playing as if he’s a program. But the minute he sees TRON he forgets he’s in virtual reality, and thinks he’s talking to Alan… No. Not that Alan from Jurassic Park/World.

Anyway it’s time for the big escape. Now that TRON and Flynn both agree they need to take down the MCP? They need to escape… Which may have had a little help from another Clu Drone…? Yeah yeah TRON LEGACY said something else… But here’s my theory…

Well… Not now. We return tomorrow as they escape. The cute Yori appears… Wait. So if she and TRON are a thing then she and Alan in the real world are a thing?!? Was she in Kingdom Hearts 2?? Hmm… Oh well. See you tomorrow.

Disney TRON 1982 Movie Review Opener

Before We Begin… On The Grid(Man)…
So before we begin properly on the grid, minutes into the movie, lets get the opening squared away. No need to sit through it. I remember it all well… And we can get the Space Paranoid out of the way.

Don’t worry. I won’t refer to the events of Space Paranoids in Kingdom Hearts 2. As far as Tron continuity is concerned? That whole side tangent never happened.

Tron 1982 was one of a small handful of live action Disney movies I love to this day. And this list is all 20th Century Disney live action. Before they got really good at it… Then committed theatrical suicide via Diversity And Inclusion.

This and The Black Hole were my favorites of their Sci-Fi genre movies. And as far as I am concerned they hold up to this day. And hey! Nobody has tried to reboot The Black Hole! So… Yay!

The opening of the movie has Flynn’s spy program Clu captured and deleted by the forces of the MCP (Master Control Program). This sends the MCP to its User/Puppet, the head of ENCOM, Dillinger (David Warner).

We see him talking to one of the staff, who plays the Oracle in the Grid. And we find out that the MCP is in the process of going Skynet on the world. Looking to overtake China’s growing computer systems as he has Dillinger deal with Flynn.

How is it that MCP has so much power? Because he knows where all of Dillinger’s skeletons are buried. Mainly all the info that puts the rights to Space Paranoids (ENCOMs hottest selling property) clearly in Flynn’s hands. Why he’s dead set to get that info.

Of course MCP has a lot to thank Flynn for too. After all the entire virtual backbone of MCPs forces are all code taken from Space Paranoids. He wouldn’t be in power without Space Paranoids.

MCPs User? Briefly seen at the end… And to my knowledge never explained. If anyone has info on that do let me know. But anyway with the help of Boxleitner and this movie’s beautiful female lead? Flynn sneaks into ENCOM.

Flynn, by the wa, runs an arcade and is tired of getting the short end of the virtual stick. Hence why he’s waging a cyber hacker war to get his intellectual property back from Dillinger. But things don’t go well.

Flynn tries to direct hack the MCP, unaware that the MCP has been planning his own takeover. After all, why else have humans build a machine solely for the digitization of physical objects (like humans) if he wasn’t planning a takeover?

I have a feeling that he was going to, once he was ready to inactive a global takeover of all computer systems controlled by world governments, lure Dillinger to the lab. And digitize him.

Why? To reverse the process, and send back Dillinger’s body… With Dillinger’s SARK program replacing his User’s mind. Completing MCPs plot for dominance over all organic life. Maybe a bit (Space) Paranoids of me… But it makes sense.

As for Clu? I assume he was reprogrammed by hackers also trying to game ENCOM and became self aware. I’m guessing TRON LEGACY explains it all though. But as for Clu “dying”?

Yeah… He’s not really human. He’s just a program. Even if it wasn’t a Drone program copy meant to trick the MCP? The Clu program could always have been copied before this version was deleted. Leading to Clu of the 2010 movie.

I haven’t seen that movie so I don’t know yet how Clu is ecplained. I’m sure truth is far stranger than my fiction. Anyway tomorrow we jump onto the grid. And watch the future Captain Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner) be introduced as TRON. Coming up!

Flashback To When Hiro Rebuilt Baymax
So, if memory serves, the original Baymax body was destroyed in the Big Hero 6 movie. From my understanding this takes place after that.

I guess this is also a story of Hiro maturing, as it starts off with him getting his student ID. His badly photographed student ID. Really? Come on! Even the DMV can take better photos.

Why is this impirtant? It’s basically to inform this story’s villain that Hiro goes to a high tech school. Apparently in this flashback he says there are no real super villains in the world. Then he runs into not Kingpin who is extorting people for money.

Hiro is juggling his new school life in technology college at his young age, with his obsession with building a new body to bring Baymax back. He meets that female professor who got him introduced to Karmi in the start of the volume. Also hijinxs trying to rebuild Baymax.

Hiro runs afoul of this Kingpin guy, and he suddenly wants more than just money from Hiro. He wants Hiro’s help. All because he learned Hiro goes to this high end tech school.

What kind of help could this guy need? We will find out tomorrow. Anyway we are nearly done with this. One more physical review coming in How Do We Relationship. Then it will be digital for awhile exclusively. Stay tuned.

Yen Press (YJ) Disney’s Big Hero 6 The Series Volume 1 Review Part 3

If At First You Don’t Succeed… Learn To Cannibalize Yourself By Turning Into Chocolate… What???

This time I actually got through a whole Chapter. Chapter Two. So… That was nice. Anyway the blonde female of the team brings Hiro, Baymax and the big guy to an art museum.

Why? She’s a big fan of this artist named Lenora… Who, spoiler is more than she seems. Anyway they end up fighting the most polite slash Jim Carrey The Mask gelatinous shapeshifting being. He wants to steal this Lenora’s art… But today he learned a valuable lesson about the hazards of falling through a glass skylight like Batman.

Strange. He’s a formless gelatinous being yet he wants Baymax to treat his job oweie… No no. He’s not kidding. The fight stops so he gets taken care of… The more you know, the less I understand.

So. Why is this gelatinous being after this woman’s artwork? Poor blonde girl is not happy that her idols work is being targeted. But she gets to meet said idol so that’s not so bad.

Meanwhile Hiro has problems of his own with special guest Karmi. You know. The girl in love with Hero Hiro. They’re apparently in an Engineering class where they have to build a model capable of withstanding a sustained 9.0 Earthquake.

You know. Because they live in San Fransokyo, in Californua… Or is it CaliJapan… When was California outsourced to Japan?? Anyway live with the Ring Of Fire aka the Pacific Rim on one side, and the San Andreas fault aka That Dwayne The Rock Johnson disaster movie on the other? If course your being tested on Earthquakes.

Hiro struggles with finding a way to build a model that can withstand a sustained 9.0 quake. Until his various experiences as Hiro and Hero teaches him today’s lesson. If At first you don’t succeed… Turn yourself into chocolate and self cannibalize.

Uh… Yeah. Apparently today’s villain only recently got his powers. As we have one scene where he learns how to shape shift into various useful shapes. And turn himself into food… Turns out he likes the way he tastes… He might have even detached a bit of himself, made chocolate, and gave it to Hiro as he escapes. Ugh. The chocolate was a thanks for the first aid earlier?? Still ugh.

With repeated effort he managed to steal the painting. As expected our blonde girl hero is bummed she failed her idol. But said idol is rather mellow about it. And says it’s not the end of the world. Yeah… About that…

Hiro learns today’s lesson, and builds a model that can adapt to withstand a sustained Earthquake. By deploying giant stabilizing legs, and using sonics… Ok.

The Chapter ends with the gel villain bringing the painting to his employer. We then find out that he’s not interested in Andrea the artist. But Andrea the scientist… As apparently she seems to be recycling all her old science schematics by turning the paper into canvas for paintings… Uhh… Why, lady, why!!

Anyway I guess we will have to wait to see if there’s any particular reason why this lady free her art on top of her possibly dangerous invention schematics. Maybe tomorrow even? See you.

Karni, Ignorant To The Bitter End
So Hiro finds out that the girl he replaced as his college’s wunderkid, is also in hot infatuation with his heroic side. As such he tries to beg her to not reveal his secret udentity… Except he almost blows his secret identity by thinking she knows his hero identity.

To be fair to Hiro? How exactly is she ignorant of his identity! His hero helmet is a simple helmet with a large clear plexiglass or harder face covering. His face is clearly visible! How does she NOT know Hiro and his later ego are one in the same.

But she doesnt. And now, because Hiro thought Karni’s brain functioned like a normal human beings? She thinks Hiro is in love with her. For some reason.

He goes and complains about it to his team. There’s a side story about the team’s resident comic geek needing GoGo to escort him to see his hated rival… Who’s Child Cave is made exclusively to relish in destroying said geek. Why? I don’t know! Children in name awkward San Fransokyo are confused. Probably because they live in San Fransokyo!!

Hiro, with the date fast approaching to report what he learned about the Magic Of Socialization from the introverted outcast, finds he has little if anything he learned.

Well… He learned that one can get quite attached to a flesh eating bacteria to the point of wanting to kill when you accidentually kill said bacteria. Great. Did the flesh eating bacteria in that teens die horribly in the woods movie die at the end? She probably cried and called it Science’s Old Yeller moment.

However when your main character is saying they’re learning nothing about X, they end up using X to defeat Y. Big Hero 6 finally defeat the mother daughter lightning duo with delusions of grandeur, and suddenly Girl knows what he learned about Karni. As such the experiment to bring them together? Success.

He decided he wants to be friends with her, which would be a heartfelt moment except it’s based on a Disney property so the writer ruins it by having Karni receive a Big Hero 6 update. She wishes Hiro was in his Hero guise at that moment, still clueless that she’s in love with him. Wah wah wah. End Chapter 1.

Well… That was ok. Not the greatest adapt ever but it was interesting. Anyway we leap into Chapter Two on Monday so see you then.

Who Wants To Fall Down The Junior Yen Press Rabbit Hole… Don’t touch the sides of the tunnel! That isn’t strawberry jam you know!!

So let’s just get this all out of the way. Supposedly this is a manga that Yen Press out out on their JY or Junior Yen label. I say supposedly because look. Art and Adaptation by Hong Gyun An. I’m pretty certain that’s Korean.

So, forgetting for the rest of the review we are looking at a manga that might be a manhwa? It’s ok… Needed more well defined chapter layouts but ok. I’ll swing with what we got. It is an original story though so kudos on that.

Hiro gets called in by the Dean at his college. Being a 14 year old genius… Hard to guess given how this book writes him as your average hero boy… He’s worried that he is in some sort of trouble.

He is. But it’s not his fault. It seems that his arrival dethroned the previous child genius, a girl named Karmi. Who is now a… Well when she’s not putting on an act for the gullible dean? She’s a stoic liner sociopath who talks to get mutated gene experiments.

Oh. Joy. She’s two steps shy of being a science villain. But yeah. Hiro is expected to spend time with her, socialize with her… And stuff. Officially he’s there to learn socialization skills from Karmi. I’m reality I’m sure it’s the opposite. Because I don’t think Hiro needs to brush up on his mutated gene experiment fraternization skills.

If that was not bad enough, Hiro and GoGo, while on patrol, run into a strange entitled mother daughter duo with electrical powers that are on a crime spree. Why? Because they’re special. And given how whoever watched them at work tends to cheer them on like they are the celebrities they think they are? You can see why they are rather deluded.

The pair get beaten by the mother daughter duo, and that seems to be the perfectly horrible end to a bad day for Hiro. But things are going to get worse. How so? Well Day 2, and Hiro tries to strike up aconversation. dau with Karmi, only to see her drawing a sketch of… Himself in Hero mode.

Well no. Surely Karmi isn’t in love it lust with the secret identity of the person she hates… That’s cliche city huh… But yeah. That night the entire team runs into the mother daughter duo, once again losing to the pair. Hiro ends up saving Karmi… And if he thought that image she drew earlier was a hint she was in love? Karmi drooling all over him after the save is confirmation.
HOh joy. Hiro’s first original story after the movie has him trapped in a cliche romance hate subplot. Oh boy.

Oh well. We continue the awkward boy lusted over by crazy girl story tomorrow. See you.

DVD Review Update 9/15: MARVEL STUDIOS Thor Collection DVD (2011 to 2017)

So we have this. Because I didn’t buy the movies one at a time earlier, I decided just to cram the purchase into one go and get the collection before I ordered Love & Thunder… which seems to be the lowest rated Thor movie yet.

So it’s just as well that my calculations say we shouldn’t get another Thor movie until 2028!… because Thor (2011), Thor Dark World (2013), Thor Ragnarok (not starring Kratos) (2017) and Thor Love & Thunder (2022)… see? Next in that chain is 6 years and 2028… never mind.

“The world has many heroes… and only one is a god. When the arrogant warrior Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is banished to Earth from his homeworld of Asgard, he must fight to reclaim his lost powers. Pursued by an invasion force sent to destroy him, the fallen God of Thunder must rise to the battle and learn what it takes to become a true hero. Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins also star in this blockbuster.”

Thor from 2011. Starring Natalie Portman from the Star Wars Pre Trilogy and Anthony Hopkins… wasn’t he from the failed Dark Universe? And the failed HASBROVerse aka Transformers The Last Knight? Hmm… also what invasion force. He was followed by the Destroyer sent by Loki. That’s it if I remmeber right.

“Worlds collide when a powerful ancient enemy threatens to plunge the cosmos into eternal darkness. Now, reunited with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and forced to forget an alliance with his treacherous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) embarks on a perilous personal quest to save both Earth and Asgard from destruction.”

Isn’t this the movie with the Dark Elves, who appear in… this movie… and that’s it? Uh… right. Thoanos aka Cable was a bigger threat. Anyway that’s from 2013. Now onto 2017…

“In MARVEL STUDIOS’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor, imprisoned on the other side of the universe, must race against time to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his world and the end of Asgardian civilization at the hands of the ruthless Hela.”

Answer? End Asgard at the hands of Surtur instead of Hela… ok. Also leads into Avengers Infinity War (even though it’s Infinity GAUNTLET in the comics) and we find out how Thor met the Guardians of the Galaxy who appear in part of Thor Love & Thunder. Also this is just the world where the Hulk was banished too in the MARVEL comics… also timely because Jeff Goldblum is in this movie and we are about to talk about him again in Jurassic Park Dominion. And yes I have that ordered and its coming.

So that is Thor. Lets open it up and see what kind of Disney inserts this has… this is a rare time where I got a pick up fairly on the new so… no inserts, but that’s fine. I’m kinda tired of Disney self shilling inserts in these things anyway.

So that seems to be it for this week’s MARVEL pick ups… there are more coming but they are enroute… and I might as well spoil it now. But I still need to get Black Widow 2021.

WHY?… didn’t you hear? The second Black Widow (who was in the Hawkeye Season 1 series) and Red Guardian are going to be part of Thunderbolts (July 2024)… what? OH!! You wanted Deadpool to be in Thunderbolts… no. You’re wishing too hard.

You’ll need to get up to date on Black Widow 2021, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier (Winter Soldier, US Agent) and maybe Hawkeye (Black Widow II) to get ready for Thunderbolts… yeah its not the best team they could have made but its something so… yay?

Unless I magically have new things to talk about from MARVEL tomorrow? Tomorrow we are going over to 20th Century FOX and looking at… some recent Predator stuff. Not the classic stuff like the first two movies or Aliens V Predator. That’s for the future. We are looking at 2010 and 2018 respectively. Starting tomorrow.
