First Rule Of Katai Sleepover? Don’t Tell Katai! So this is nice. We get to meet Katai Makoto’s parents… Who seem to be straight out of Japanese fighting games… I think. Why? Probably just me but it seems that way to me.

Quick side note. I can’t think of ANY manga to date that actually allowed the Pandemic to happen in its pages. Anyone know of any manga that actually used the Pandemic as part of its drama? Post in the comments…
Since Najimi knows the gang well enough, she picks Katai’s family dojo as the sleepover site. Seeing how she already knows it’s built to stay cool in the hot summer months? It’s perfect… Now if she only actually told Makoto her plans.
Plan is to sleep over, and use the dojo’s projection player in the dojo to watch scary movies… Sigh. Every time they say scary movies it’s either Scream or Ringu. How about Evil Dead? Friday The 13th… The off beat but interesting Jason free TV Series?
(Yup. They wanted to do Ft13th but couldn’t get the Jason license. So rather interesting cursed artifacts hunt show. It’s less slasher horror and more suspense terror).
(Premise is simple. Some guy sold his soul to Satan and opened up an antique store for cursed artifacts. The main cast has decided, after said guy was dragged to hell, to get all the evil shit back and lock it all away. Lots of TV approved death and suffering. It was the tail end of the 20th Century. Simpler times. Watch.)
So let’s see… We meet Katai Ai. But since Shosuke is not here she can’t connect him to Shoko. Yet. Maybe one day. Also she rides around on a massive tricked out bike, and is still harassing Makoto.
We meet the dad. Who seems to be either using the force to speak, is a telepathy from the XVerse, or is another introvert like Shoko. Sorry. They don’t bond. But he does like Tadano alot!
Being an expert at interpreting the painfully introverted? He figures out the dad wants them to bow when entering the dojo. Otherwise all his dialogue is silent tnoughtd. Loud thoughts but silent. Also he looks like the old buff muscular guy from Virtua Fighter.
So tomorrow we meet the mom. And see what horror movies they watch… Bet it’s predictable stuff. It’s never stuff like Train To Busan, House (which is actually horror lite if I remember that movie, enjoyable fun), or The Gate (kid uses mini kit rocket with explosives to deny Satan his sister’s soul and shut the gate to hell… Weird.)
I’ve been buffing up my DC Universe series and movies lately. Since that is rebooting as the Elseworlds multiverse, and MARVEL can’t stop losing… Seemed like a nice gift for me this Christmas. Anyway more Komi tomorrow.
A Manga Full Of All The Katai You Need So let’s wrap up the questioning of Komi over at Kato’s place. And proof positive that Kato truly loves Katai… Yes. We know he’s at least maybe bi. But Kato doesn’t know that.
Speaking of not know? Is this an error in the creator’s part, or will the Anime explain why Sasaki said Komi visited Tadano’s house on White Day.
Hey. That might have been back in Volume 9, but even we know that’s not how it happened! Komi visited the Tadano house back at Valentine’s Day, but never got past the front door. It was Tadano who went to Komi’s House on White Day.
So Komi, in her infinite desire to gossip, tells Kato & Sasaki all about the Golden Week team up at that resort with Tadano’s family. Including the Night she and Tadano were caught in the rain.
Though to her credit? I font think she told them about her and Tadano sharing a blanket in a bear cuddling session. That info would have definitely blown their minds!
When pressed, asked when she will finally admit her feelings for Tadano. Ask him out. She… Can’t do it. Yet. Well this is year 2, but I’m seeing it most likely that she will ask him out soon.
Realizing they hit a wall with Komi, as she is not ready yet to take that next step with Tadano? Suddenly Sasaki wants to search Kato’s clean room. Not waiting for permission even!
Oh. Almost forgot. We found out last time that Kato’s mom might be a Fashionesta. It seems she made the kimonos she put on Komi and Sasaki. She might be this Universe’ version of Rarity! I wonder if she will make something for Komi later in the series?
So Kato? She reads manga… But NOT manga related to Shogi. There are a few certainly but no. She reads a Shonen Jump series (you can tell by the stylized S in the title) called Startin Today. Why?
Yeah… No surprise. The series stars a character that is a dead finger for Katai. Of course. Well… Yeah. She sure loves that Katai. She collected an entire series just for Not Katai… Wow.
So that’s it. A fun Chapter. I bet it will be one of my favorite episodes of Season 3. If course. It has Kato and Sasaki after all! Eh… Anyway Student Buddha speaks Monday!

Nice Mansion. But Did It Come With A Mr. Tadakichi?
I split this review up into two parts. Why? Because it brings back fan favorites, in my opinion, Kato & Sasaki! And we get to see where Kato lives… And more!
Kato and Sasaki drop in to see Komi at her class. It seems that Sasaki has been invited over to Kato’s house, and they want to invite Komi.
Why? So they can grill her about her relationship with Tadano. But we will get into that next time, tomorrow. Anyway we just go straight there. And… Yeah. The creator just recycled Chiyo-chan’s place.
That’s fine. Doesn’t hurt me none. It does have a giant yard and a very nice traditional Japanese set up… And? This makes sense. Her family is loaded with professional Shogi players, so yeah.
Also noticed I blew up one panel… No. I’m pretty sure that’s just Yamai spying on Komi. Again. No sudden appearances by an older Chiyo-chan… I think.
Anyway let’s see. Kato lives in a mansion. And yeah I have to start remembering her first name. The family has black porcelain toilets. And the mom decides to dress Komi and Sasaki up in kimonos. Becsuse… reasons.
Luckily there’s a high wall on this mansion. I don’t think Yamai would survive seeing Mother Kato strip Komi naked. Or something. That’s too much for one Yandere to handle.
So we will cut right to the chase. Skip further discussions of the Kato mansion. It’s time to talk about Komi hearts Tadano! And discover they are promoting Shonen Jump on one panel… VIZ needs a Shoujo Jump book.
The whole trip? To lure Komi in to interrogate her about her love for Tadano! The questioning begins… And ends… Tomorrow. Bye.
