DVD Weekdays 2/16

So lets look at the newest pile of stuff in for the Sony/LionsGate pile… mainly a lot of action movies. But let’s start off with the movie I actually saw of the lot. Hellboy.

Yeah. I saw the first Hellboy movie, but didn’t see the second one or the reboot in 2019. I have them all, so I can watch them… I just didn’t see them in theaters. And, well, even now the gang (like Ron Perlman and Guellmo Del Toro, they want to do a new movie (a conclusion to the trilogy) if only they are allowed to. And given that the new movie didn’t do well enough to get a sequel? I don’t see why not. Do it. I would watch it.

And now onto the action yarns. And we start off with your Chinese Buffet of action heroes… The Expendables. AKA that franchise that is making Your Boy Zach some serious money as he actually somehow got the rights to do the comic version… how? I have no idea… but he did. Anyway I am a fan of Stallone, and Schwarzenegger, and Willis, and Cena and all these heroes. So to get a full movie series with these kind of heroes on them? I’m cool with it.

Yes. I did order the first movie. It will be along in a few days. Now as for the sequel… Expendables 4. After… wow… it has been 8 years since the last movie! The last time they did a movie I was diagnosed with diabetes and began to have my toes cut off! Darn it Stallone! If you kept making Expendaboe movies…. ok. I would still have less toes and diabetes. Still…

But yeah. Now they already filmed the movie It wrapped filming at the tail end of 2021. So I assume, and this is pure speculation on my part, that we will see Expendables 4… about Thanksgiving time. Late November. MAYBE it will be held over and released around the time of the Super Bowl in 2023 but… I’m thinking late 2022 release.

This isn’t the only movie I am waiting on with no clear set release date yet. There is also the Borderlands movie. Yeah. The movie based on the video game of the same name. It’s supposed to be out this year too. That movie ended filming about June or so of 2021 so… I would think it’ll be out by Summer. Maybe even the 4th of July Weekend. But we will see.

So we wrap up this pile with the three John Wick movies. So let’s see.. . Keanu Reeves is the action hero of these movies? Yay. The movie stars him going on a killing rampage when a stupid mobster crosses the wrong Keanu Reeves… and I thinkk he kills Keanu’s female lover and his dog… DAMMIT! NEVER KILL THE BASIC FURRY OF THE MOVIE!! Kiotaro & Hana curse you.

…whattya mean why would a pair of otters with over a million YouTube followers curse a human for killing a Basic Canine? Why not! Also these may be the only otters on YouTube with more followers than some Hollywood stars. Now all they need is their own movie or TV Series and they’re set.

But yeah. I have all three John Wick movies. And there will be a fourth movie out June 2023… with a 5th movie already in the pipeline for the future. So yeah. This is going to be one of those long lasting series I see. That’s good. There isn’t enough long lasting successful series in my pull list from Sony and LionsGate presently, so having at least one with a long lifespan is good in my opinion.

And look. They’re going to be entering the GamerVerse! They have Borderlands coming sometime this year. And add to that the fact they want to do both a Ghost Of Tsushima movie and a Metal Gear Solid movie. They are definitely going full on into the GamerVerse it seems. Fine. I can live with that.

So that is the Sony/LionsGate update for the week. I think we are all clear now… so tomorrow let’s talk Anime. I don’t have a big collection, but I am willing to add onto it. I’ll tell you what I am looking to add on when we come back… hmm… a series about a bald guy who may be the best yet worst hero ever? Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid? Aggretsuko if Netflixs ever lets it get a DVD release, the series they did let get a DVD release (Castlevania)? Yeah. Coming up we talk Anime DVDs. Not so much what I have but what I want.

DVD Weekdays 2/14

Guess I need to add on a DVD Weekday because I am going to forge on ahead this week and look at the Sony/LionsGate stuff I have so I amm caught up showing you the stuff I am bringing in… so that I can go back to weekend showings until I need to do reviews throughout the week once mangas grow low. But yeah. We wrap up the Paramount pile with randoms… make of it as you wish.

We start off with Ghost in the Shell. The movie that proves that the lady who did Monster Hunter isn’t the only one who needs to stay away from these odd movies. Scarlett Johansson, your a lovely lady and you did great as Black Widow… but not in the Black Widow movie. We waited years for that and you… anyway you as the Major? Uhh… no? Sigh. I’m sure you’ll find your ideal Anime role… not this.

THEN AGAIN! In Ghost In The Shell 2 Man Machine Interface? The Major was a blonde who might have been played by some big… big boobed big star big big… female actress who is a blonde so… why not Scarlett Johannson.

Hansel And Grethel Witch Hunters. I don’t think there is a single original thought in this movie. It steals from Buffy, it probably steals more from Wolverine as Van Hellsing than the font for the title, and lord knows what else is steals from. But it did make a 1/3 of a Billion Dollars, and they said they want to make a sequel… that they haven’t made yet. So… who knows. MAYBE it will get a sequel. Maybe not.

At this point I’m just adding it to pad out things for October to look at. This, and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, and Pride/Prejudice/Zombies. There is also supposed to be an animated movie where Lincol fights Zombies, but then I realized it’s made by the ASYLUM. If you are not familiar with those people (lucky you), the ASYLUM is a group of South American filmmakers (if I remember right) whose one and only stick is to steal from better movie makers. That’s it. Their one and only gimmick is to make knock offs of better things, and not even do a good job at it. So… only if I hate myself I’ll review this.

WAIT!… looking back at some of the things I’ve reviewed so far this year? Hmm… I seem to think I might hate myself bad enough to review the ASYLUM’s work… except it’s so cliche. Everyone and their fifth cousin has reviewed the work of the ASYLUM so… we will see.

Sonic The Hedgehog. And yes. I am looking forward to the new movie come April 2022. That should be fun. It is on my list of pre orders I want to make this year so I am looking forward to it. So far? I have pre ordered Spider-Man No Way Home and Ghostbusters Afterlife. I WANT to pre order Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and Morbius, and Across The Spiderverse Part 1, and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness… and a few movies from Sony/LionsGate, but we will talk about those later in the week.

Finally we have Stripperella. And no. I ordered this long before there was a movie about the Pam/Tommy sex tape. So this has nothing to do with that. But yeah. THis is Panela Anderson as Stripperella. Creatd by Stan The Man Lee. Nice. Now I just need the young super hero created for Indian audiences (and has his own comic from a well known publisher of Indian comic creators… and Indian as in the country India and not Native Americans by the way).

So this is the uncut uncensored version,, as there is nudity in this version from SPIKE TV (which is now Paramount Network and I forgot what it was before SPIKE TV when everyone thought Spike Lee bought the network… didn’t he buy the network?) And yes, this is the second thing I have from SPIKE TV. The first being BLADE The Series… didn’t they also show MARVEL Anime? I think they did. If they did then this is the third thing I got from SPIKE TV.

So that is the Paramount Random pile. Tomorrow? We dig through my pile of stuff from Sony & LionsGate, as I have new things to talk about from there. Moving on towards getting caught up with the pile of stuff coming in… and yeah I am still ordering stuff so I have a lot to review when the time comes.

DVD Weekends 2/13

So in every collection a little Michael Bay must fall… which is going to happen because the guy raked in a billion or so per Transforemrs movie. As much as nobody liked his movies, they still made a ton of money. And yes. After Last Knight the Bayverse died….

Which is stupid. Why? Because it was supposed to be dead anyway! The Last Knight was supposed to have been the launching point for the damned HASBROVERSE! and I am sure when I watch the movie I will point to all the things that hinted that there was more to be in the movie.

Movie takes place in England? Supposed to have had Action Man. Mark Wahlberg is big in this movie and returning from the last one? He was supposed to end up being the head of MASK or the Visionaries (seeing what happened at the end of this movie with him getting the armor and sword) by the end of the movie. Military? Bet we were supposed to have seen a certain military guy named Mannheim (Mayhem) from MASK (VENOM). The lady who is supposed to be the Qunitesson character? Bet you she was originally supposed to have been the Dire Wraith Queen!

Yeah. The HASBROVERSSE is dead. And it didn’t even have a chance to die a horribke Tom Cruise led death like the Dark Universe. But here… let’s look at the DVDs I got. And yes. As of this article I have only seen two Transformers movies in theaters. The first two from Bay.

So we have the three movie first movies set. Of note is the first one which intrdouces the weird Transformers to us. The second which has the death of Optimus Prime from the old 80’s movie but no Unicron or Galvatron. But it does have a stupid character called The Fallen.

Then we have Leonard Niomy show up as an evil Prine, who does his Spock lines from Star Trek… I miss you Mr. Nimoy. And then… we have the next two DVDs from the dark age…

We have Age of Extinction. This is the movie with the erector set Dinobots… speaking of things erect, this is the first Mark Wahlberg movie and it’s the one where they talk about the rights of teenage girls to boink young adult men, because there is such a thing as Romeo And Juliet Laws and I DIDN’T NEED THIS IN MY TRANSFORMERS MOVIES!! THANK YOU MR BAY!

Dammit Wahlberg! Go back to Shammylammywhan and talk to fake plants again. Like you did in The Happening!!

Finally we have The Last Knight. Which again was supposed to have launched the HASBROVERSE… but that is now not happening. Also the movie ended teasing Unicron and a big movie series that never happened. Again, thanks HASBRO for chickening out on us.

And thus we come to the first movie of the new Transformers era. Bumblebee. Which will lead into next year and Rise Of The Beasts, in which Beast Wars is brought into the movies… we barely begun and already we have Beast Wars. Yeah. We are going to get Beast Wars characters next movie.

Also that animated movie that was supposed to have been done by Boulder Media? It’s finally coming… now helmed by Entertainment One. If that isn’t proof positive that Boulder Media is on the way out I don’t know what is.

So we wrap up Paramount DVDs with some randoms next time… not all are from Paramount I think but… let’s just wrap this up so we can move on to Sony and LionsGate. See you tomorrow.

DVD Weekend 2/12

So since I have a fresh update on my Sony/LionsGate stuff to talk about next weekend… yes. It’s time to enter the Keanu and the Stallone… let’s tackle Paramount in three sittings. Today we will start off with the very first franchise I was ever a fan of… that is not Kikaida. Star Trek. I have been a Star Trek fan for as long as I can humanly remember, and now I am coming back to it during the height of Star Trek with Paramount+. Where we get a new Star Trek series every few months and Star Trek is always on. Like it, hate it, it’s fine by me and I’m ok with it. And I’m one of those who hate my fellow old school fans for hating change.

So let’s see… we start off with Star Trek Discovery. And no I have no plans to get Season 1, the one where Lorca turns out to be from the Mirror Universe… and I am still expecting Main Universe Lorca to end up being revealed to be Garth of Izar. Anyway I have Season 2 (the Season 0 for Star Trek Strange New Worlds if you will), and Season 3 (aka Star Trek Legion Of Super Trekkers.

I fully plan to get Season 4 (Tilly goes bye bye, and the series takes another strange turn in it’s direction). But that won’t be a thing to get until later in the year. Right now I am waiting on two things to go on sale…

Star Trek Lower Decks. Mainly Season 2. This is the Season 1 DVD. I kinda liked what I saw from Season 2, so I jumped back and got Season 1 and intend to get Season 2. There will be a Season 3 and then the series is… up for grabs. Will it be renewed? I know already that Star Trek Discovery is going to be arboud for at least 5 or 6 Seasons presently… but I have no idea about Lower Decks. Sigh. Anyway I’m expecting it’s DVD to be out by May or so.

Star Trek Prodigy is the other one I am waiting on. I don’t have it yet… of course… but I expect it to come out by Summer… which brings us to the episode Kobayashi. It’s OK… but really they should have split the story up into two episodes, and used the holodeck for each character story. One for our main male and one for Gwyn, since she had a major story arc here where she finally turned from being a villain.

Yeah. She should have gone into the holodeck, and met all the other female leads of Star Trek. Uhura, Dr. Crusher, Counselor Troi, Major Kira, Dax, Torres… yeah. And most of them are still around to voice their characters.

Which brings me to my problem with Kobayashi. The fact that it’s all done with voice clips from archives. Uhh…. yeah. Why. For instance if more was done with Uhura and Dr. Crusher (like that Gwyn episode I was hinting at) we could have brought in NIchelle Nichols and… darn. Forgot her name. They could have been here. And yeah, when I first saw the Spock speech from the episode I thought it was fan made. Using clips from the show… but nope. They actually did that.

It’s fine. I love Leonard Nimoy Spock as much as the next fan, but come on! You have TWO perfectly good Spocks to call upon to take the role! You have the one from Strange New Worlds (who is not everyones favorite but he’s still there), and you have Zachary Quintos from the movies! Hell! He and Leonard Nimoy knew each other for a time! So he would have made the perfect person to do the role in honor of Leonard Nimoy! Missed opportunity.

In fact? They might as well have had the Kobayashi Maru episode helmed by the one best suited for the scenario. William Shatner as James T. Kirk. He should have been the one to sit through the scenarios with our young man lead here, and he should have been the one to deliver the speech. That would have made far more sense. I love Nimoy’s Spock, yes but this moment called for Kirk. Without a doubt. Especially since William Shatner is still alive!

Ok rant over. We end my present Star Trek pile with Star Trek Picard. I am going to get Season 2, and I am looking forward to how they do the time travelling thing in this episode. Though I agree with a few reviewers and Trek commentators on YuoTube in that I don’t think DeLancie’s Q is the villain. I think he quickly got Picard and company set for the time shift before it happened, and set them on the path to stop whatever it is that did it.

I am hoping this ties into the temporal time war of Star Trek Enterprise. That would be a good callback if it does that. And hey. This Season has Whoopi Goldberg, who is now presently on the cancelling block because she thinks the Holocaust of World War II had nothing to do with race… uhh… yeah. It did. Sure there were probably other factors, but race hinged a great deal into that madness. So… sorry Miss, I like you and all, but your wrong.

So that’s Star Trek. Next time we look at HASBRO… sadly not Pony. Yeah. That means we have a look coming at my… gathered Transformers DVDs. Because it’s the only major HASBRO franchise that has clear plans for its theatrical future. Unlike GI Joe or the now dead HASBROVerse. Yeah. Sad.

Oh. Yeah. I’m also going to get the Kelvin timeline movies soon, since a fourth movie is finally coming in June 2023. And I am going to get one or two more movie DVDs past that… but stay tuned.

DVD Weekend 2/5

So as you will see at the end of this update? I have a new third pile of DVDs being built up. One that fits my oldest fandom I was ever into since my youth… nope I don’t want to sit around and talk about the comics based on it. I’ll just talk about the series now being put out… eventually. Anyway…

So we start off with Deadpool. Both Deadpool 1 & 2. Why? Because Ryan Reynolds… also because we now know that we will get Deadpool 3 come Late 2023. Probably Holiday 2023 (October or November)… no… wait… nah. We are getting it February 2024. In sticking to when the past two movies came out. Either way we are getting it in the coming months ahead. Finally.

And with Ryan Reynolds rumored to being in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness? Now is as good a time as to get his two movies… wish he did an animated movie in the intern between movies… and look forward to 3.

So just fo pad out the pile? We have Sony’s stab at the Animeverse with Monster Hunter. Yeah technically it’s part of the GamerVerse but… why split hairs now? Also it’s yet another campy entry in the Milla Jovovich library! Are we absolutely sure she isn’t an escaped clone actress created by Ed Wood years ago as the Future Of Filmmaking? Anyway yeah. I don’t think we will see anymore stabs from Sony on the whole AnimeVerse front… but you can never tell.

Yeah yeah. In two weeks (less) we have Spider-Man Tom Holland taking off as Nathan Drake in Uncharted. So the GamerVerse continues ever forward. Though the latest trailer… uhh… it’s nice. But why is it during the game iconic scaling up the cargo crates being towed from the back of a giant transport plane I suddenly think we got the wrong Tom Holland, and Peter Parker is in this movie? Why are you apologizing to the thug who is trying to kill you?

Finally we have Ghostbusters Afterlife. Which is a hit… I know. I know. If you look at it’s Wiki looking at it’s earnings might not make it seem like a hit, but give it a break. It happened during the evil pandemic! It may not have hit Spider-Man No Way Home numbers but its still a hit! Anyway I am looking forward to the next movie as rumored from the success of this one.

Uhh… ok back to Ghostbusters Answer The Call. Am I really the only one who remembered that Sony asked Ivan Reitman to be showrunner of a new Ghostbusters animated series after that movie failed, which was supposed to be called Ghostbusters Ecto Force (and take place in the future)? Whatever happened to that effort? It would be nice to get a new animated series while we wait for the next movie. Doesn’t have to be that series, since it sounds like it was borrowing too heavily off of Batman Beyond, but… still. It would be nice.

So as you can see in this pic? A third pile is being formed. And this one is… Paramount. So next week we will look at my Star Trek DVDs (because yes, I am a long term Star Trek fan… who still gets buck from people when I say I’m not obsessed with the past of Star Trek, and I want it to move into the future. Also it gives me a chance to talk about the big Easter egg filled episode Kobayashi from Star Trek Prodigy. Nice to see we think alike, and they too thought jamming in guest appearances… Even in regards to honoriums in regards to Odo and Spock, was so nice.

We will look at those, and my newly gathered Transformers movies DVDs (as we head towards next year and Rise Of The Beasts aka Transformers vs Transofmrers Beast Wars)… I’m sure Phelous Phelan does not approve. Coming up next week…

And oh… and I also put in Paramount’s one attempt at the AnimeVerse in my pile… remember that one? You will… when you see it.

DVD Weekend 1/29

So hey. I noticed sometimes I get a good bit of views, sometimes I don’t get many views. Guess it depends on what is being reviewed at the time. I will get about to reviewing DVDs sooner or later. I need to just set aside time to sit down, watch them, and write up about them. So coming sooner or later.
This week’s arrivals adds on to my pile, and moves some sets to completion. So first we will go over them, and then go over what is being ordered this coming week or what is coming in…

Blade Movie Collection

I completely forgot all about the Spike TV 2006 era Blade The Series show, until I saw this DVD Collection and was reminded of it’s existence. This is an OK set… HOWEVER it’s not listed correctly. If you look at it’s listing it promises a 4 DVD set… this is only a 2 DVD set. They put the movies two per disc. If you are not happy with that, you’ll either have to order these movies separately or order a different collection set. This probably won’t suit you very well.

SPOILER – This is not the only set that does this. They did it with the Men In Black Trilogy DVD collection, but they did NOT do it with Ghostbusters 1 & 2. So… your mileage may differ depending on which collection you buy for which movies.

But hey. I like the Blade movies, even Blade Trinity though it is the least favorite of the three… even if it stars a younger Ryan Reynolds pre his Deadpool days. Yes. In this movie he’s evil, nowhere near as fun as he is now… hmm… he’s kinda like Leslie Nielson. So serious in his youth, but funny in his later years. Only don’t do a reboot of Naked Gun Mr. Reynolds. That was just a one off comparison and you don’t need to do that.

Ghostbusters 1 & 2

Yup. I looked to be sure. This one features a seperate disc for both Ghostbusters 1984 and Ghostbusters II 1989. Nice. Overall this is a nice collection and I am looking forward to sitting down and enjoying these movies all over again. And speaking of joy or maybe lack of joy…

Ghostbusters Answer The Call 2016

There. Now critics can’t say I forgot or neglected the all female Ghostbusters movie. Even though the IDW comics already had the formula for a female led (but not completely female) team they could have used for this movie. Including Annie Potts (though to be fair her version in IDW continuity is younger than her IRL counterpart despite the fact the comic is set in the kinda present of a few years ago).

So yeah. Here’s the movie that will never have a sequel. And yes. I also have the full set of comics that IDW put out with the ladies in them as well. So I went above and beyond what most do in regards to this. They usually just get the movie, but I got the movie AND the comics. So you are welcome my critics who hate me so… what? You still don’t like me? Ok. Cool. Next.

Men In Black International

This last two DVD set should be called Movies Chris Hemsworth Regrets Being In. Because they both feature Chris Hemsworth, and wow. Look at him. IRL he looks rather normal compared to when he’s Thor. That’s some acting chops to pull that off. But hey. At least he won’t be lambasted in Thor Love And Thunder… Yeah. I’m ignoring the Naysayers. Sigh.

I still like the original three movies with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones better, and that is coming in order form in the days ahead. Especially since Men In Black 3 has Cable slash Thanos in it if I remember right. Speaking of which…

Yes. I did get my Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy DVD Collection. I figured I’ll talk about that when I have an update on when Spider-Man No Way Home is finally being released on DVD. As of right now there is no update for that so… eh. Also by next Saturday I should have my copy of Ghostbusters Afterlife (whichI ordered a while ago) to show off as well. I’m looking forward to that.

So what else is coming? In a few days theoriginalHellboy movie DVD should be in. Looking forward to that. I ordered Deadpool 2, since we now know that Deadpool 3 goes to film in Late 2022 and should be released Early 2024 (since it seems to be Deadpool’s lucky time of year to release movies, February or so of the year).

So as of this point we have Hellboy the original movie coming in. Deadpool 2. And Ghostbusters Afterlife. That will be next update. Anyway this week I should be ordering…

Ghost Rider Two Movie Pack – Because you can’t get enough Nicolas Cage being Nicolas Cage in a movie if you don’t have hin hamming it up as Johnny Blaze slash Ghost Rider in Spirit Of Vengeance. Also topical since he is rumored to be joining the cast of Dr. Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness in maybe a good cameo role. So nice. I saw the first movie in theaters, saw the second one on TV… ok. I’m in.

Men In Black Trilogy – Should be ordering it this week.

Deadpool – Yeah. I ordered the sequel before the original. The sequel had Domino and Cable in it. So yeah. Also this is cheap to get. Why look at gift low costing DVD in the case? I’m all over it. Coming up.

DVD Weekend 1/22

So things are rolling along apace on this year’s pick ups… which I guess I’ll call the Midnight Binge Collection. That means (presently) Blade (MARVEL), Dr. Strange (MARVEL), Ghostbusters (Sony), Hellboy (Dark Horse), Men In Black… yeah yeah it fell on it’s face because of International but still.. I do like the Will Smith Tommy Lee Jones trilogy!, Moon Knight (MARVEL), Spawn and Witchblade. So… what is the progress of things?

Blade – Yeah. The Movie Collection is still missing. I figure if Ghostbusters Afterlife arrives and it hasn’t arrived yet? I’ll just call it a lost cause and get a refund for it. Or try. Sigh.

Dr. Strange – Well… a new movie (Multiverse Of Madness) is coming this May, so that’s something to look forward to. Otherwise on DVD I guess I’ll get Dr. Strange Animated with Sorcerer Supreme, and Doctor Strange Are You Kidding Me with the 20th Century made for TV movie that is so silly it’d make Dormammu not want to come to Earth ever again if he was forced to watch it… but sure. I’ll get it.

Ghostbusters – Speaking of things I got because I wanted a complete collection? Yes. I got Ghostbusters 2016. It will be in in a few days along with Ghostbusters 1 & 2. Because… I hate myuself I guess. Afterlife releases on DVD on February 1st, and will be sent out probably a few days later. So that’s nice. Otherwise all I need left is the DVD collections of The Real Ghostbusters and sequal animation Extreme Ghostbusters. Both no doubt being expensive to get… but I’ll get them.

Hellboy – This past week I got two Hellboy DVDs, and more is coming. By the end of hte week ahead I should have… one more DVD. The other coming the following week. Eh. I’ll talk more about that next time. But yeah. Adding onto the list of not so happy movies nobody liked is Hellboy 2019. Not many people liked it, but I got it anyway. Because.

Men In Black – Hmm… this won’t take long to fill out. The movie trilogy that people liked, International that not many people liked, and the Animated Series… which I guess somebody liked. Oh well.

Moon Knight- MoonKnight begins Late March, but it hasn’t even started and already one of the stars of the show has sadly passed away due to a skiing accident… wait… that’s the same way Sonny Bono passed away some years ago. A skiing accident if I remember right… anyway I have Disney+ so I can watch this when it premieres.

And that’s it. Spawn I’ll get in February along with Witchblade. And I figure I’ll be completely through the shopping list by Summer or so. So this is an easy pick up… but when will I sit down and start writing DVD reviews? Good question. I’ll post updates as I move closer to that action. And of course comments below will add motivation for me to start reviewing DVDs. All the comments I can get below adds motivation for me to do that. Oh well. Update next week.

DVD Saturdays And The… Something DVD Build Up

Yeah. Since there is already a series out there called SUPERNATURAL, with the Winchester family? I’m not too keen on calling this set the SUPERNATURAL DVD SET… because then people expect me to actually have SUPERNATURAL and I don’t watch that.

So yeah. A mix of different things from across different comic studios, including IDW (Ghostbusters)… even if they are maybe soon to lose Ghostbusters as they are rumored to be near collapse. Anyway… This is a DVD collection in the works so I’ll post as things roll in. Also a Spiderverse update at the end of the article…

Blade – Yeah. I liked the Wesley Snipes Blade movies from years ago… EXCEPT Blade Trinity. They really could have done a lot better with the Nightstalkers in that movie. Heck they could have introduced Morbius way back then, and yeah they had plans to do Morbius during the Blade movies long ago… but didn’t. Now I did order the movie collection, but it is presently… MIA somewhere. Waiting for it to show up.

This is new to me. The SPIKE TV (now known as Paramount Network) Blade series from 2006. It only had one season, and this DVD promises uncut episodes with content too spicy for TV… near nudity and excessive violence no doubt. Mind you 2006 too much for TV is a far cry different than 2022 too much for TV… basically not having a popular opinion seems to be too much for TV lately. Go figure.

My only complaint is I like the actor who plays Blade in this series, he looks cool and (considering this is meant to be a sequel to Blade Trinity continuinig the series past the movies) he looks the role and looks well as Blade. BUT… why is his name Sticky Fingaz?!? Was he trained by Yondu in the art of action hero acting?!?) Yes yes… He’s probably a big name in another genre, like music or the like… but still. Doesn’t he have a Dwayne Johnson name to go along with his Rock persona?!? Sigh…

Remember back some years ago when MARVEL made Animes with Japan? They made allof four series. Blade, Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine… yeah yeah. Such cohesiveness of properties I know. Though in retrospect, now that MARVEL has the rights to Blade and the Xverse again? This is now finally one cohesive universe… even if it didn’t make much sense back then.

The one and only takeaway from this series is that this is ANIME… because it was made in Japan, and all the writers had to set the entire setting of four series in… Japan.

That makes sense with Wolverine, because his story actually makes sense once you look at it. Blade too, because he travels wherever vampires go… EXCEPT he is fighting Deacon Frost, and Frost died way back in Blade the first movie in 1998!! (And yeah look this is Wesley Snipes slash Sticky Fingaz Blade, I’m sure of it). Iron Man I guess makes sense, and yes it is based seemingly on the Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man… even if he looks like the 1996 animation Iron Man. X-Men… not so much.

But yeah. I got this because Blade. I guess later one when MARVEL finally reboots X-Men (which is slated to start movie wise in 2025 from what I heard of it) I guess I’ll also have this for that… but we will see.
Finally the Benedict Cumberbatch Doctor Strange movie. I thought about getting the animated version of his origins, Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme… but I decided to just leave it be.

Rounding out the coming DVDs… well I think I’ll add Moon Knight eventually, if it’s as weird as promised when the series premieres on Disney+. I will also add WandaVision because Scarlet Witch. And yes, that was a good series (which now makes me not listen to naysayers who hates on it because… oh right, hate is great for their viewership.)

Right now I am picking up HELLBOY DVDs. Starting with the Rob Perlman movies, and then the… 2019 reboot. I might go to the animated Hellboy stuff later on. And yeah, as of right now Hellboy is a bit of a dead end until it’s rebooted yet again, but… oh well.
Ghostbusters. I ordered Afterlife (releasing February 1st), and picking up the first two movies too. I don’t know about the 2016 version, but I guess over time I might get it… I’ll get The Real Ghostbusters collection before that though.

Finally we have Spawn. Getting the Animated Series collection and the movie… because Spawn is returning in the coming years with Jamie (Electro) Foxx as Spawn. Nice. Also Witchblade. Getting the Animated Series Collection and the TV Series Collection. Because she has had a lot of success on the small screen, but no big screen movie yet. Which continues as presently there is a rebooted TV Series version which…. is presently missing in action.

It was supposed to premiere last year, but as of right now it is radio silent and no one has heard an update on it for sometime. I hope it’s still coming out.

So yeah. Next time I do an update I should be showing off Blade the Movie Collection and eventually Ghostbusters and Hellboy. Stay tuned.

As for Spiderverse? Well since the last time I posted about about it, Morbius has been delayed. First to Late January, then to April 1st. So I’m still waiting to preorder the Morbinus movie on DVD. I do have an order out for the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy movie DVDs… which is fitting as news now says he will be starring in Kraven The Hunter as Spider-Man in January 2023. That should be here soon.

As for No Way Home? Well I preordered it but it hasn’t had it’s official release date set yet. I’m guessing it will come in March or April, Probably April since that is when Morbius is coming. Maybe the No Way Home DVD has stuff promoting Morbius on it when it comes out. We shall see. So I’ll try to post an update weekly… and I hope to have some new DVDs in to talk about then. Bye!
